Main insight: Manhattan generates the largest trip volume, while airport zones, especially JFK Airport and LaGuardia Airport, generate the strongest revenue and high-value trip concentration.

Marketplace Demand Analysis

This section identifies when and where demand is strongest. These insights support driver allocation, incentive planning and operational monitoring.

Revenue & Pricing Analysis

This section distinguishes high-volume zones from high-value zones and highlights revenue concentration.

Revenue insight: Standard trips represent the majority of volume, but premium and exceptional trips contribute disproportionately to total revenue.

Marketplace Pressure & Opportunity Zones

Since direct driver supply data is not available, this project uses proxy indicators to estimate marketplace pressure and business opportunity by pickup zone.

Methodological note: The marketplace pressure score is a proxy indicator based on demand intensity, peak-hour activity, trip duration, speed and revenue intensity.

A/B-Style Experimentation

This section compares standard-hour trips with peak-hour trips to simulate a Test & Learn analysis.

A/B insight: Peak-hour trips show a slightly higher average trip value. The effect is statistically significant, but moderate in business magnitude.

Hourly Demand Forecasting

The forecasting model predicts hourly trip demand using lag features, rolling averages and calendar variables. The Random Forest model achieved a MAPE of 10.4%.

Automated Business Recommendations

These recommendations translate marketplace pressure and business opportunity scores into operational actions.

Business Conclusion

This project demonstrates an end-to-end Data Analyst workflow for a ride-hailing marketplace: data cleaning, KPI engineering, SQL data mart creation, dashboarding, A/B-style experimentation, demand forecasting and business recommendations.

Recommended action: Reinforce driver allocation during peak hours, monitor Manhattan high-demand zones for operational coverage, and protect airport zones for high-value trip availability and revenue optimization.
